Since my original post went off-topic, I am going to repost this in hope of finding a solution to my problem.
More than once a day, the ability for users to login to secure webmail stops with a "the page cannot be displayed" error or the browser just hangs for several minutes. If they try http instead of https, they can successfully get the login screen, login, and use webmail. I then have to restart the webmail service and the problem with getting to the https login goes away for a few hours. This has happened with both the trial certificate AND our official certificate from VeriSign. It has also happened on both the default ssl webmail port and port 443. It has happened with users using both Netscape and Internet Explorer. I want to roll this out to several dozen users and am at my wits end trying to get this to work consistently. Note that I am on Windows 2000 Server with the latest service packs; I am using IMail version 7.05 with the latest hotfixes. I cannot find anything in the IMail log files stating any problems with SSL, nor in the W2K event viewer, nor in my firewall logs (the mail server sits on the DMZ). The site is "jagannath.tvca.org".
