FYI This isn't limited to 6.06, its been with me from 6.06 to 7.04 with no improvement and no help from ipswitch

The certificate you use will have little effect on how the SSL performs. The problem appears to be with the code on the server. The initial SSL code in IMail wasn't fully up to par (I haven't checked it out lately, though).
