We have had several clients take that position, however they must make it a policy of the company that all incoming and outgoing mail from ALL users is copied to a specific email address for review, that infractions of using company email for personal use may be terms for dismissal, restate the fact of disclosing company information to sources outside of the company is terms for dismissal, and post this in numerous places throughout the company. It is also a good idea to have all employees sign a statement to that effect so that there are no misunderstandings. They can also have it where the users can only email and receive email on local users if the mail server is in-house.
