OK looks like the hosts entry did the trick, though I much prefer to NOT
have to have it.
I did an e-mail test on DNSstuff.com (thank you Scott) and from the info
obtained there I was able to put this in the host file:

205.158.62.41   techie.com

The result was the following log snipet.
