2. We have given the customer a dial-up account with a Static IP assignment

   the IP in DNS and the IMail Hosts file. This has been verified by looking
at the
   dialup logs and Telneting to the IMail server.
and you have that ip in Imail "relay for addresses" ?

can you see the exchange box contacting Imail and issuing ETRN ?

you can brute force this by just having the Exchange box call up, stay on line, until Imail queue timer pops at which point Imail will try to relay all mail the exchange ip, don't even need etrn to work.

It seems as if the dialup connection does not follow a schedule and the
Exchange server doesnot issue the ETRN command.
then screw it, just have it sit there connected and Imail will dump mail on it.
