You can use access as long as you never have more then 500 email addresses.
Beyond that, access doesn't respond fast enough.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Imail and External Database

I am working on setting Imail up using an external database (so I have 1
database for everything). I have MSSQL (yes it's patched and secure) and or
Access, which system would be better. If there are other suggestions for a
database system please feel free to offer your ideas. If anyone thinks it's
a complete waste of time I would like to know also.
