ok, this plays into my idea of not running Imail on the external db, but exporting the new/deleted user lists from the external db to a text file to be imported into Imail, totally decoupling Imail from the db (speed especially).You can use access as long as you never have more then 500 email addresses. Beyond that, access doesn't respond fast enough.
Plus you could take the "backend" db down for maintenance and the "frontend" Imail wouldn't be bothered.
iow, Imail internal db becomes "slaved" to external business db.
The lists would be also useful to IMGate also as it would be used as a mailbox ACL to accept mail only for known users.
