lockups? Imail SMTPD "should" be able to regulate its inbound flow control without "locking" up. Once all the SMTPD sessions are busy with the "thundering herd" from Imgate, Imail won't answer any more calls from IMGate, and IMGate will defer the messages and try later. Then IMail SMPTD receptions eventually complete, and IMail SMTPD slots become available to receive more messages. To make matters worse after Imail would go down and come back up our IMGate boxes that had been dutifully accepting inbound mail would dump it onto Imail all at once bogging Imail down. This is why we had lockups on reboot.
There are IMGates delivering 20+ K msgs/hour to Imail without Imail locking up.
( damn, where is Imail's Auto-Deny Possible Hack Attempts shutdown when your really need it!! :) )
