They do have a naming convention that makes sense to them. But if the AOL intent is to force mail servers to use rDNS entries that can be traced to the source for prosecution of spam/virus senders
That's everybody's goal: to make sources of mail abuse identifiable, traceable and actionable. "designated mailer protocol" achieves this perfectly.
