There was something similar to this issue last week, but I can't put my finger on it.  Someone though the same thing, but in searching the logs again, they found the rest of the transaction much further down the log.  Have you searched the entire log for the '011E013E' to see if it exists anywhere else. 

 

 

Yes, I searched the entire log, not only for that process but for some of the others where he was trying to send mail and got the same results. It's the weirdest thing..it's like the process just stopped. The same four entries, then nothing.

 

I'll check the IMAIL archives though and see if I can find something similar. I was on vacation last week and unsubscribed while I was gone. 

 

What OS is the client using? 

 

The client is using Win2k Pro with SP2, which came loaded in the Win2k CD.

 

 

Does the client have all Service Packs and Hot Fixes for Outlook installed. 

 

I am not sure about the SP's or Hotfixes for Outlook, however, I don't believe he had those installed before my "helper" decided to reformat his machine. I will check on that though. This is an outside salesperson whose "homebase" is one of our remote offices. None of those machines get the care and attention that the ones up here do, because our MIS dept. is here, not there, and he is on the road a lot.

 

Im still leaning towards a "bum" install of Outlook, especially because I didn't do it personally!

Sounds like it something on his laptop or with his VPN settings.

I recreated his VPN settings and watched him log onto to the network using the VPN settings.

 

Could this be a problem with his local copy of Outlook? 

 

It looks to me like once the server greets him, Outlook doesnt know what to say? Or maybe I'm misreading the log.
