As for the CF, I realize the headers are malformed but I can't determine what exactly about them is incorrect. I have been experimenting trying to correct them and have looked at the rfc but still haven't determined the exact issue.

is rather baffling to me. I assumed that what you mean by "private IP" is one of those covered in RFC 1918 (Cf. http://www.isi.edu/in-notes/rfc1918.txt) and these addresses are non routable. There are *many* servers using them behind a firewall for NAT'ing and yours is/are very likely to be also used by many other networks. "Exposing" it in e-mail headers should not be cause for concern as no-one outside your firewall will be able to send anything directly to your "private" IP(s).
