OK,  I have since been able to narrow down to where the problem in
originating.  Since the problem is occurring on computers where we have not
installed MS Updates, the problem has go to be on our Imail server box.
Here is what software is installed/updated on that box:
Windows NT4 sp6
Windows KB823559 Patch
Microsoft .NET Framework (English)1.0.3705
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
Hotfixes installed:
Q299444, Q300972, Q304158, Q305929, Q312895, Q320206, Q323172, Q326830,
Q328310, Q329115, Q810833, Q811493, Q815021, Q817606, Q819696, Q823492,
Q823803, Q823980
Hotfix for Q811114
Imail 7.07 with all hotfixes and newest webmail templates installed.

Can anyone help me out here?  I am getting desperate for help on this
