Because I haven't heard from anyone using ver 7.15 who is having the problem
that we are experiencing with downloading attachments via Webmail and since
this minor (or in the eyes of Ipswitch for licensing, major) version upgrade
will be less of a hit in CPU cycles on our PII 300MHz/528MB RAM mail server.
Besides, I have heard of numerous users using 8.01 who are having this
problem.

I am also sort of irked that since Ipswitch change from user based licensing
to this tiered license program, we are essentially also being asked to
upgrade this as well. While we don't have a ton of users that are active on
our current 250 user license, we do have 9 domains. So this means that we
have to step up to Imail Professional with unlimited User/Domains. I guess
we are ISP class now!!!

I used to talk really well about Ipswitch when I recommended Imail to my
customers and business partners. Could someone pass the Preparation H?

Well it looks like Ipswitch is going to force us to upgrade before they
spend any time trying to diagnose this.

Since we are running such a slow server, I would like some feed back on you
users out there that upgraded from 7.x to 8.x as to the hit you took on CPU
cycle and memory usage. Like I have said before, we have a lightly loaded
server but it is going to be borderline for the new version.

I just know that they are going to throw the speed of our server in our face
I we continue to have problems after the upgrade. We do not have a new
server in the budget right now.

I will be performing upgrades from 7.07 to 7.15 before I try the jump to 8.x
and I will report back on the results to the list.

We have Licensed Imail Server with 250 Users. We currently have 9 domains
installed so with Ipswitch's new licensing scheme, we would have to go with
the Imail Server Professional. The cost as quoted from Ipswitch is $495
plus tax.

The question is can you guarantee that the update to 8.01 will resolve the
problem. I have received reports from other users on the discussion list
that they are also experiencing the same problem and they are running
Windows 2k Server, and all Imail updates installed on 8.01.

I am also concerned that ver. 8.01 would require more horsepower than our
current PII300MHz box can provide.

Please address the reason as to what is occurring to cause the problem.

PS I will be forwarding all correspondence regarding this issue to the
mailing list since I am not the only one suffering from this problem.

Hi Scott,

I have now read that thread on the forum.

The Service Agreement for the Small Business version lists for $249.00. This
will update you to 8.01 and bring you all updates and phone support for a
year.

Dave
