In the email I send them, I prefer to put in a hyperlink to some page
that explains how to use Imail from the user's perspective and hopefully
how to set up a POP account in Outlook.

Take the opportunity:

1. how to set up SMTP AUTH

2. the max message size

3. the max mailbox size

4. what your email filtering policies are/aren't. how to opt-in, opt-out of filtering. How to s

5. how to report rejected email (sender and recipient)

6. what types of file attachments are allowed and their max sizes (announced file attachment size = 75% of disk file size)

7. make sure you create and announce different DNS domain names / A records for each mail service for each domain for them to put into their mail apps:

pop.domain.com. A ip.ad.re.ss ; read mailbox
smtp.domain.com. A ip.ad.re.ss ; authenticated outbound mail submission
ldap.domain.com. A ip.ad.re.ss ; read mailbox
webmail.domain.com. A ip.ad.re.ss ; left as an exercise

( don't use MAIL.domain.com for anything )

They put the domain names into their apps, NOT the IP.
