I was saying that the Raid5 has the best combination for the 3 drives that he has
So he adds a 4th drive to have two RAID1 pairs, physically separating spool from mailbox storage. For 200K msgs, another disk is cheap.

hanging on a 5 mb connection I wouldn't perceive the Raid array write performance to be a bottleneck.
with 200K msgs and who knows how many simultaneous webmail clients, why settle for less than the fastest disk subsystems?
If I am wrong please inform me. Writes on Raid5 are faster and the reads are slower.
