Sorry, Len, but I'm going to keep correcting you. "Content-scanning" isn't at issue here (unless you choose for it to be). To determine the FP ratio (which you keep talking about!), you must accept the E-mail. This can either be done all the time (as is the case with IMail), or could be done occasionally for brief periods (once a day every month, for example) to get a sample of the false positive ratio. So you can do it to, if you want (regardless of your religion <G>).
And for some reason, a significant number of Declude and/or Sniffer clients have decided to install IMGate.
That "for some reason" sounds like an attack. But in any case, combining your estimates and mine, I figure less than 5% of our customers are using IMGate. Given that we actually suggest to some of our customers to use IMGate (yes, it's true!), and many of them had IMGate installed before Declude, and given that most computer programs have over 5% turnover, I'm not surprised.
Other mail admins choose to keep the crap out of their networks, rejecting before the DATA command, and handle complaints case by case. They are not fixated on false positives.
That's because you preach to those admins that there is no need to worry about false positives. You show phony data (like the post that started this thread) that makes it look like your ACL test has 0 false positives -- when in fact it does. You change the meanings of anti-spam terms to meet your needs.
Can I ask you why you bothered posting all that data, rather than just saying "I choose to consider any E-mail that fails my ACL test as illegitimate, and I consider all those E-mails false positives, therefore my ACL test has no false positives." What could the data possibly say that isn't in that sentence (unless you *do* consider "false positive" to mean non-spam, as the anti-spam community does)?
