All, Well, considering Len is in France, I doubt that most users would spend the $$$ to pick up the phone and call a sysadmin who is in a time zone 8 hours away. Of course, the average end-user wouldn't even know enough to do a whois, especially if they simply assumed that the message had been delivered, since there was no bounce message generated. Wouldn't [EMAIL PROTECTED] be using the same spam filters as the users of his domain? I do.
I made the below comment partly in jest :-), but considering the fact that deleted mail does not generate a bounce message, you certainly could not expect the average (not a mail admin) person to "guess" that their mail had been deleted by a filter that they are unaware of. Of course, it depends upon WHAT you are blocking that is important here. If you are blocking IP addresses of KNOWN spammers, then the above should be of no concern. If there is any chance that legitimate e-mail could be received from these IPs though, I would generate a bounce, rather than a delete. That's just me though. Better safe than sorry, is how I figure it. Obviously, all mail admins are going to have their own personal preferences, none of which are necessarily "right" or "wrong".
