Yes this is true.. but maybe I'm on the wrong tangent here.. I'm recalling an issue where the call to the socket/tcp state was hung open in the wait state and would not release... thus exhausting the available sockets about every 2 1/2 days. This is a critical issue I think that has been, I believe, brought up to IPSwitch?
That is correct.
However, the IMail Monitor service is the one doing this, and it creates 1 TCP connection every minute (by default), so whether you receive 500,000 E-mails/day or 5,000 E-mails/day, you'll see the exact same symptoms.
FWIW, I believe that this is not a recent issue, but has been happening for years -- but doesn't happen to everyone for some reason (it may be specific to the way that IMail Monitor is set up, the OS being used, etc.).
