On the mail host properties General tab, do you have the sub-mailbox creation set to 'bounce'?
Sorry, that only works when email is sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] domain, for the "somethingelse" part. Sharon, Is there a SMTP firewall (proxy, relay server, MS SMTP, etc...)? Check your services.... Try stopping IMail SMTP and see if you can still connect on port 25. If you can, then its not IMail. I connected to mail.todhunter.com and got this: 220 SMTP service ready **(did you modify IMail helo response?)** ehlo test 250-Requested mail action okay, completed 250-SIZE 0 250 8BITMIME **(much less text here than IMail usually reports, unless you have a very old version)** vrfy root 252 Cannot verify user, but will accept for this address mail from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 250 Requested mail action okay, completed rcpt to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 250 Requested mail action okay, completed rcpt to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 250 Requested mail action okay, completed rcpt to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 250 Requested mail action okay, completed So it appears it is not IMail on port 25 and it appears to accept for any address at your host. If this is IMail, then it is acting as if it has a nobody alias. That is the only thing I know that would disable IMail's Valid/Invalid user testing in the RCPT TO: Connecting to port 110, revels a standard IMail response. So, the IP for mail.todhunter.com seems to have the non-IMail SMTP response.
