Don't think so. I have customer that has two AOL accounts and when they login with one account it works fine if they login with the other account(to the same number) they will get this error and they couldn't telnet to the SMTP server. They got routed to an AOL proxy server and timed out.
When I talked to AOL they said that it is not there problem because they are trying to use a third party email system. You could imagine what my response was!
