It seems there was a hotfix which addresses that panel layout problem - don't remember the name of it offhand, but when I applied it sometime back it cleared the problem of the layout.
Until you can get that done, your changes are possibly not being saved the way you want them to Also click on the button "Clear DNS cache" when you are doing those DNS changes.
