We had lots of trouble with this same issue and after working with IPSwitch technical support, the problem was identified as being tabs in the hosts file.
Try replacing any tabs in your hosts file with spaces and then bounce the SMTP server service. Let us know if it clears up your problem. My question is, has any one that has these same symptoms/problems/issues, upgraded whether it's on the same server or a new server to version 8.11? If so, has the problems gone away?
