By what definition? http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1846.html
5. SMTP client behavior If an SMTP client encounters a host in an MX record that issues a 521 greeting message, it must do one of the following two options: a) Attempt to deliver it to a different MX host for that domain. b) Return the mail with an appropriate non-delivery report. If an SMTP client encounters a 521 reply code in any other part of the SMTP dialog, it MUST return the mail with an appropriate non- delivery report. I read that last bit (in any other part) as "if you figure out it is spam before you close the connection on the message you can probably bounce it with a 521". However I equate the 521 message with the word bounce - so I may not be running with the pack. After. Messages can't be bounced before they are received, by definition. --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamAssassin plugs into Declude! http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/SPAMC32/download/release / Defuse Dictionary Attacks: Turn Exchange Addresses into IMail Aliases! http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/exchange2aliases/downloa d/release/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
