Hey Martin, Where'd you get the info that @*.foobar.ch isn't supported? Somebody at Ipswitch told me that it was. The reason we do that instead of @*foobar.ch is that we don't necessarily want @thingsarefoobar.ch blocked but we do want @mx04.foobar.ch and @mx05.foobar.ch blocked, etc.
Also to Scott, your answer about the MAIL FROM and header stuff...just to clarify...I *did* originally set it up to block what's shown in the MAIL FROM but messages were still getting through because despite what's in MAIL FROM, the server logs show those messages as being from the address in the header, not what's shown in MAIL FROM. In other words, a message coming through from [EMAIL PROTECTED] does not show up in the Imail logs. Instead I see this: 20040617 143041 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (f1611d1c01469627) [69.8.162.96] MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Lou > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of > Martin Schaible > Sent: Monday, June 21, 2004 4:15 PM > To: Lou Zucaro > Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Kill file issues... > > Hi Lou, > > I discovered a new way to enter a domain: @*foobar.ch > > This will cover addresses like [EMAIL PROTECTED], > [EMAIL PROTECTED] and so on... > > Do not use your syntax @*.foobar.ch.
