I would say it this way...If the mail server is no used to run any interactive applications and all the shares are closed (good luck as 2K3 will recreate the admin shares C$ D$ etc for you) then it should be safe from viral infection and then you would only need the mail server AV...As paranoid as I am I use both but exclude the mail processing and storage directories from the real time file scanner..Just my $0.02
