I looked into SpamAssassin very seriously but after reading all of the configuration mumbo jumbo I decided against it. It requires that you install Pearl, some special Perl modules and more. There was a ton of nearly contradicting disclaimers in everything I read. Like it needs a certain Perl Version and build for it to run properly, yet some features will not work unless you use the latest version of Pearl, which in turn breaks other features. It didn't take long for it to confuse and frustrate me :)

They have a very active user list like this one - [EMAIL PROTECTED] - they're mostly *nix guys, but the rules discussions and spam configurations are platform independent.
