I've received reports from users(1) and well as personally witnessing(2) now (just upgraded this morning!) that imap-2006a seems/feels(subjectively) approximately an order of magnitude slower, particularly in accessing/using unix/mbox-style mailboxes.

For example, appending messages to a (unix/mbox) Sent folder ~40Mb in size, with imap-2004g this took ~3 seconds, and with imap-2006a takes 30+.

Insights? Suggestions?

(1) using Fedora Core 5
(2) I'm using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
