I agree Alan ! I have a small consultancy with a static IP on DSL, and I
run my own SMTP server on it to service my clientel (spam cleaning &
forwarding services). I pay for that service, and it is known up-front
with my ISP what and why I am doing it. I am required to (rightfully so)
use their gateway server, so that they know immediately if I were to be a
spammer. There isn't any reason for any ISP to not be blocking port 25.
That would help cut down a lot of junk ! The real problem is lack of
automation in reporting spam to the big ISP's. I personally gave up on
trying to report and block with my firewall, as it became a full time job.
As long as TrashFinder (thank you Randy)works at segmenting the messages, I
now just delete them.

Sincerely,

John Martoccio
