Subject: RE: TF filter settings

Woodie,

I'll try to help as best as I can, but I recommend that you subscribe to the
TrashFinder mailing list for this particular conversation at:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
With the text in the message body: subscribe trash_finder

1) TrashFinder uses both the .RCP and .MSG files for analysis
2) TF use straighforward text matching, so for "n9.scd.groups.yahoo.com" you
could just enter "groups.yahoo.com" and catch all those messages. I try to
be very careful with this. I have also have encountered some issues where
putting in the server dns name seems to work better.
3) TF creates a great log file every month, which details what it is doing.
Once I started reading it, I I stopped bothering Randy, as it became
immediately apparent what was actually going on.
4) TF does not read beyond the HTML boundries, so for me to remove
Antibanner, I had to activate HTML Content as a detection method.
5) 98% of my regular messages are passing through, once I got all of the
routine addresses entered into the "EXCEPTIONS, Pass Addresses" area, and
moved my antibanner keywords to "Text Body-Trash", and removed my
antibanner.
6) ALL OF MY SETTINGS in TF are set to "Trash" (No Spam or DELETE, which is
not the default).
7) Only a select group of "Text Body" and "From's" are using the DELETE
function.

My goal was to pass all regular mail, and hold most everything else for
analysis, and relay any good mail found.

I hope this helps.
