Not everyone has DVD readers. We did a DVD version for the university distribution that I made when I was working there, and found that much more people than expected don't have DVD readers yet, even with not so old machines.
I certainly understand that concern. But that again begs the point, what should be the live contents be of a CD? A browser? Any languages besides English? What other productivity tools? Obviously network drivers are a must - what others?
