This is just a matter or workload.

We have a bunch of patches to port to 2.5.x [1].  If anyone wants to
help with those and help pushing at least some of them upstream, that'll
speed up integrating 2.5.x.

    They have to do with finding libs on Solaris (esp. those 
    in /usr/sfw), supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit, dtrace probes,
    supporting gcc and sun studio, etc.
