I have been using GNU/Linux since 1995/1996 and I have never ever used pushd or popd. Nor have I ever encountered anyone else that uses it in many, many years of software development on GNU/Linux. I would be hard pressed to believe that it it is in that widespread usage or that so many users depend on it. However, there is no reason that it cannot be added to ksh93. -- Shawn Walker, Software and Systems Analyst [EMAIL PROTECTED] - http://binarycrusader.blogspot.com/ "Beware of bugs in the above code; I have only proved it correct, not tried it.
