The Caiman team intends to develop non-graphical installation interfaces, as has been noted on roadmaps we've published, And the Distribution Constructor portion of Caiman is designing tools to easily allow anyone to build their variant distros. But I must ask: what are *you* willing to contribute to help make them happen? The people already working on the projects have priorities set based on a variety of factors, including the priorities of the people who write their paychecks, so if they don't align with your "musts", are you able to do some work?
Why I provide these ideas because I see future for Gentoo model and if there will be free time I can participate. As I am not programmer this will be difficult to fully participate in creation process, but I will continue its testing. Think what you want, but Gentoo model is best for Solaris.
