the problem is the size of the space needed to have a successful upgrade:
$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
rpool/ROOT/opensolaris-nv
16G 12G 3.8G 76% /
ok, i have 3.8G free, but:
$ pfexec pkg image-update
DOWNLOAD PKGS FILES XFER (MB)
Completed 732/732 45152/45152 1254.94/1254.94
PHASE ACTIONS

Install Phase 14168/14168
Update Phase 52473/56021 Action upgrade
failed for 'opt/SunStudioExpress/prod/lib/sse2/libsunperf.a'
(pkg:/sunstudioexpress):

how do you explain that 3.8G isn't sufficient? What is the minimal size
of free space needed?
