No, that's not it. You're thinking in terms of payload, and payload alone. What I'm writing about are DNS servers, serving out live data after package installation has finished. Databases, configured and then created completely automatically, without the DBA ever even so much as logging onto the system. Firewalls, with rules loaded and activated upon package installation completely automatically, without any kind of human interaction whatsoever. I could go on, and on, and on. Everything is componentized and modularized. The key concept to take away from this is repeatability. Consistent repeatability.
