Compassionate prehospital care is more about making people feel better than saving lives. This study supports others that illustrate that EMS does a poor job of treating pain. Pain should be assessed using a quantitative scale. There are pain scoring systems for all ages (including neonates) and these should be used. | |

The National EMS Memorial Service has released the names of the 26 individuals to be honored at the 2005 National EMS Memorial Service to be held Saturday, May 28, 2005 in Roanoke, Virginia. Their names will join those of 282 others on the "Tree of Life" memorial at the To the Rescue Museum in Roanoke. | |
