I personally would like Agus Wahyudi to stay. We all need to find the common
ground which we all agree on. The last two weeks have exhausted us all. But
now, more than ever, we need to support the democratic forces in Indonesia
that require our support more than ever before.

Most of the exchange of views on this list were done in a dignified manner.
Principled people such as Agus Wahyudi are needed in Australia. To help
exchange different viewpoints, then to return to Indonesia, knowing how we
think.

Invariably, such differences help to reassess our relationships and things
which we take for granted. Many of you will remember Pauline Hanson who
caused Australians to think about issues in Australia. Eventually her views
were rejected.

Again, I on behalf of many Australians want to reaffirm our welcome to Agus
Wahyudi to continue to stay here.

PS. The Aid I was referring to was the "aid" which ends up in the pockets of
the privileged groups.
