Skype would be a definite possibility. I know that some folks have
some issues with the security and Skype's desire to use all your
bandwidth, but it should be great for this. Another option would be
to send a MacBOok with the kid and have him use iChat. Using iChat
would allow for desktop and document sharing. If you want to try Skype
I know that there are a few of us that can help you test it out.

1) Anything that is in the world when you're born is normal and
ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.
2) Anything that's invented between when you're 15 and 35 is new and
exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.
3) Anything invented after you're 35 is again the natural order of
things

Greetings to another before the storm again day! The beauty,
however, has made it all bearable.
Here's the deal: an elementary student was diagnosed with cancer
several months ago, will be starting his chemo treatments again
shortly. It was suggested maybe we could use Skype and he could
connect with the classroom while he is in Iowa City this time
around. I know enough about Skype to know the general
workings . . . but not enough to say this is the way to go or to
even know what things may we need to make this a go? (no, I haven't
skyped yet -- I finally joined facebook and twitter within the past
few months--baby steps!)
Ideas . . . suggestions . . . . equipment needed . . . . anything
to get me going in the right direction with this? Teacher has a
MacBook Pro with 10.40.11
Appreciate the help!
