Kyle and Sarah:

You can use cdrw -l to tell the vendor and firmware level of the CDROM
drive.

You can do this:

1. Stop the vold if it is running.

# /etc/init.d/volmgt stop

2. Then run cdrw -l as follow:

dong{ding}66: su
Password:
# /etc/init.d/volmgt stop
# cdrw -l

The Toshiba DVD-ROm SD-M1401 had firwmare 1009. BTW, if you have
Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-M1401, you will need firwmare 1009. Otherwise the
Soalris DVD/CD will not boot successfully. The Toshiba SD-M1401 is
supported in a lot of the earlier sun4u systems.
