Dick and Ben: We do not support flash creation with zones. This will not work. Also flash will not with ZFS yet. Both of these are known issues.
However, if your original install is from a system that is created with SUNWCXall cluster with UFS/SVM file system, you can create a flash archive and deploy it on other system if the hardware differs. dick hoogendijk wrote: > Ben Taylor wrote: > >>> Dick Hoogendijk <dick at nagual.nl> wrote: >>> Would it be possible to setup a s10u5 plus zones BE on a different >>> machine (also AMD athlon) than the one that is supposed to be the system >>> in the end by just doing that (create the BE on the "alien" hardware) >>> and afterwards make a FLASH archive from that system and use that for >>> an install on the "original" hardware? >> What about installing S10U5 on that athlon, then snapshoting the >> zones over to that box and (like a detach and attach). > > Snapshots are for ZFS. I'm on UFS.
