The current defaults definitely suck, and its very 'unusual' which is a pain for anyone who's used to *BSD and Linux. Seriously, though, how realistic are these old 'fill up root' arguments these days? We don't have 9GB SCSI unipaks on home machines these days. Do we see lots of problems being discussed in *BSD and Linux support fora because root filled up? No. Do we see lots of issues here because the default layout can't even handle installing its own dev tools? Yes. James
