Hi Tim,

The server does not do the resolving, instead, it is on the client computer.
That means that if on one computer the client correctly resolves (actually
reverse-resolves) a lot of names, and on others it doesn't, that means that
the user has incorrectly configured DNS on the other client computer.
Also, keep in mind that the user interface "replaces" IP addresses with
names, as resolved names come in. So initially it shows only IP addresses,
but then starts replacing them with DNS names as they are resolved. Some
take longer than others, but after a couple of seconds you can be reasonably
sure it doesn't have a DNS name.

Is the entry with the Windows hostname the same computer where you are
viewing IM Flows?

What's strange is that SOME of my entries DO have a hostname, while others
just have IPs. One entry, in fact, seems to have the Windows hostname,
rather than DNS entry! Dartware, any more detail on how this is done (or
supposed to be handled?)?

If Flows has not yet fully implemented DNS lookups, I'd like to third the
request, please.

And at the further risk of going off topic, our network is organized both by
hostname (reverse DNS) AND IP address (there 2nd octect tells me what kind
of equipment this is, the 3rd octect tells me which site its at). Still, DNS
is more informative, and you can always just not do DNS entries if you are
really opposed to hostnames. :-)
