Mod1+F1 doesn't always open manual in tiled workspaces

When I'm in a tiled workspace, Mod1+F1 doesn't always open the manual 
page. Pressing it repeatedly will open it about 1/3 of the time. In a 
floating workspace this is no problem - it opens every time.

I'm using Ion-3ds-20060524 installed from the FreeBSD ports collection, 
running FreeBSD 6.1-RELEASE. Am I the only one having this problem?

I'm not so much worried about the manual as I am about other 
applications not getting opened, though I haven't experienced this 
problem. (But it should be noted that I installed Ion just last night.)
