Yes the message do show up on the server in the "Conversation Store". There isn't a refresh button for the Store, so I have to restart the server app to see the new messages. The client doesn't see the IM but if you log the client off the server and then log back in the client will show it received offline messages and ask if you want to view them.

The clients can attach to the server but will be disconnected from the server after a length of time. Also the clients show the status of each other in "unknown state" and cannot send instant messages back and forth. You do get the messages when you log off and back onto the server. Can this setup exist without any changes to the private network? If not what changes need to take place?
