When you have a user database other that IIM's (Ipswitch Instant Messenger) selected
we dump all of those users into the PCL (Public Contact List) by default. One way of
selectively show users in the PCL is to:

1) on the 'Public Contact List' property page in the Server Manager uncheck the 'Show
External Authentication Database Users in Public Contacts' option that's at the bottom
of the page.
2) add the individual contacts that you want in the Public Contact List by clicking
'New' and typing the contact's address 'userid@hostname'.

We don not populate the New Public Contact List drop down box with any user entries
other than those from the local IIM user database.

See the same behaviour. However, clients do see the entire list, including
even disabled NT accounts. I would love to hide some entries, though (e.g.
the admin and guest accounts) and would be keen to know whether there is a
way to do this.

When using the Winnt Authentication and when trying to add a user to a list
the drop down box does not show the list of available
users. Yet I can type in the user and it seems to work.
