[Sorry - I just realised I answered part of your question with your question :) but the discussion on multi6 on whether source address selection is enough is relevant if you haven't seen it...] I agree the issue spans multiple WGs and it would be good to ensure that there is agreement/convergence between thinking in those WGs (at least nemo, multi6 and ipv6).
