They are not materialized anywhere locally (well, they are - in each module's
build folder). They are staged directly from their respective build locations.
You shouldn't try to work around that - the right way to centralize them is in
the distribution module: assemble maven artifacts in a local folder
"repository".
As for revealing the password - I think if you pass it via environment
variables the logs won't contain the password anywhere. I'm not 100% sure
because, well, I didn't write gradle...
