Are you referring to modules/opentelemetry/build.gradle mentioning solrJ?
Sadly we have some overzealous dependency checking that insist we declare
dependencies, {_}even for transitive dependencies of gradle scope "api"{_}.
This annoys me too. Solr-core has an "api" dependency on SolrJ. That
dependency checking thing was written for a maven world and doesn't recognize
new concepts gradle gives us. This is my assessment / opinion of the matter.
I complained upstream to that plugin... got some interest but I don't believe
it's been fixed.
