Hi Jarod, and the list,

Thanks for the quick reply. I've tried running mplayer with the "-vo xv"
parameter and it seems to work better, but it was spitting out some errors
related to sound. I know for a fact that my sound isn't set up properly at
the moment, so rather than deal with that, I've just turned it off, like:

mplayer -nosound -vo vx /tmp/video.mpg

I've tried all the 9 different video inputs using:
/usr/bin/ivtvctl -p 4 <-- tried 0 through 9

For each of the 10 inputs, mplayer output a totally black screen, when I
captured a little bit, then watched it.

However, for the input 4, mplayer actually outputs a mostly black screen,
but it has some noise, or "TV snow", or whatever you want to call it....so I
do think that input 4 is the TV input at least..though I did have something
connected to the composite port too, and that obviously didn't come through.

I've also tried running:
/usr/lib/ivtv/ptune-ui.pl &
mplayer /dev/video0

And, I get a similar result...I can move through the different inputs, and
get black screen, except on #4, where I get snow...and I can change channel
numbers up and down, and fine tune them, but still get nothing.

I'm going to paste the output that mplayer kicks out below, if that
helps....I've also been reading Dan Ferris's questions (his setup looks
simiar to mine), and your responses..and nothing seems to be helping..I have
the current modutils, video4linux seems to be installed.

Any suggestions anybody? Thanks in advance,

Cameron
