Hm, that was a coordination problem. While the one half of me was
suggesting to upgrade modutils, the other half had withdrawn the
package for testing module-init-tools on 2.4 kernels. Sadly enough the
two halfs did not do a good job on communication. Perhaps one should
get fired.

Workaround 1:
o rename tuner.*o from the /kernel/ subdir

Workaround 2:
o Get
  
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/development/SRPMS/module-init-tools-3.1-0.pre5.4.src.rpm
  and rebuild it on your platform.
